Company Visibility?

Hi All

I opened up an apparel store focusing on bringing investment back to my small town through one of our store highlights called "COLLABS for CAUSE".  Collabs for cause is a way to sell our apparel but benefit local causes while doing so.

My questions is, "How do I make my company more visible to the public?" and "What is the best way to market in the very dynamic and constantly evolving apparel industry?"

Hey thre Elevation1470,

Didn't see any responses to your post - not sure you found some solutions, hopefully you did.

One of the more popular questions and everyone is looking for some advice.

Here's a snip-it of one of my previous posts.

What works well for one business may not apply to another.  I wish there was a magic solution cause we would all be happy.

Just having a web site does not mean instant sales but, the more ways someone can find you will certainly make a difference.

Here's a few suggestions:   Start with the basic social media sites, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Flicker, Pinterest, YouTube, Vimeo, Google Maps, Google Places for Business and Yelp - the more you get your name out there the better and you can setup these accounts at little or no cost - it's just your time.   Take your time and take lots of product pictures if that applies.   Creating a video about your business or blogging can be helpful.  Advertising in your local paper may promote sales too.   Cross selling via other sites like Etsy may increase interest even if you just list a few items.

Another option is to spread the word via friends and family as word of mouth is very effective and free.

Depending on your budget, online ads may drive sales however, it's a challenge to determine your ROI - over the years we have spent quite a few dollars doing advertising however, we really don't think it was worth it as compared to word of mouth.

Depending on your budget. You may want to look at EDDM retail post cards through the post office. Every Door Delivery Method. USPS will deliver post cards to every box in a specified route that you pick. Its fairly cheap to do. Instructions/set up/payment/forms are all done on line with USPS once you set up an account and the only thing you have to do is deliver the stated amount of post cards to the delivering post office with the appropriate paperwork and your paid receipt for that specific route. The post cards must follow postal guide lines for size and thickness and must include a clear address window with  "Local Postal Customer" pre printed in there and the correct indecia (where the stamp would normally go) with very specific wording, so you dont have to put a stamp on every piece. The big printing companies like 123 Print or Vista Print have templates that match those requirements so all you have to do is design it and upload to them. My wife uses Canva but the print companies have pre made templates.

We did  the largest post card that was allowed, 6"x11" and includs a coupon. It is full color and info is on both sides. Customers must bring in the card for the discount, that way we can track post card sales to see if its worth it. If this works were going to build in a code word or something so we can track the specific route.

Now to be honest, we are about to do our first mailing, our post cards are sitting on our dining room table and we plan on sending out 450 next week, so we dont have any feedback yet. We use facebook "Events" a lot to promote special openings along with postings on our page and were dabbling with FB Live to highlight items and have gotten some positive feedback from that and word a mouth is working really well right now but it takes time to build.

Good Luck

We figure If we get 4 or 5 sales out of 450 mailed, it will have paid for the mailings, anything over that will then be profit. Since there is no end date for the coupon, wree hoping to see residual sales from these mailings for months to come.
