Using Square Appointments for Food Truck / Catering booking?

Hello all! Has anyone utilized Square Appointments to categorize and manage quick events for their Food Truck or Catering business?

For example, customer arrives on website, wants to book our truck for a two hour event in a week. They click the button, book their event (if the time slot is available). Then on our end, we receive the event request, send over the contract, have a clear line of communication and send over invoice congruently.

Square Appointments looks like it would work, just want to hear people's experience.

Hi @RTP

Square Appointments would definitely work to manage customers' requests. You would definitely want to setup a buffer between appointments.

I think your idea of sending over a contract and invoice is a great idea. Every event is going to be different based on what they want and how far away the event is, so it is best to do that portion with contracts and invoices.

Good luck! Let us know how it goes!

I'm interested in this idea. I set up a catering service that clients can use to book an event. If you have successfully used square appointments for your food truck catering business and wouldn't mind sharing any useful tips, it would be greatly appreciated!

Hey there, @Aldokhi

This sounds like an excellent Feature Request for the Appointments portion of our platform. I would recommend posting this over to the Ideate Board as a Feature Request.

There other sellers can add their voices to the request too. When more information becomes available through our Product Team, a Community Moderator will come back to update the status on the request.

Thank you!

Square appointments would be perfect for this - just set a service as 2 hours long, create a staff member (your truck), then open up the availability for the truck in appointments. You can add a buffer after the service as well inside the service type to give you some time to clean up, get set up, drive, etc.

You will want to update the service to manually accept appointments instead of allowing the system to automatically do it for you so you can get your contracts, communication, etc in order with the client.
