Our business requires full pre-payment for all reservations and appointments, along with a 20% service fee that supports our staff and operators. However, Square currently does not allow service charges or auto-gratuity to be added to appointments. The only available workaround—adding it as a tax—creates significant accounting complications and misrepresents the nature of the charge.
When will Square offer support for service charges or auto-gratuity within the Appointments feature? This is a critical functionality for businesses like ours and needs to be addressed.

I appreciate you reaching out, @SPM-Seattle!
You are correct, unfortunately at this time, it is not possible to add a service charge in Square Appointments, besides the workaround you explained.
I took a look into this and I could not find a timeline on when this may be implemented. I did find a post on Ideate in regard to this though. If you would like, I might recommend commenting on that post as well, as the more traffic on a certain Ideate Feature Request, the higher the chance for our project managers to see and implement them.
If I hear of any changes to this, I will definitely keep you posted here. Please let me know if you end up having any other questions in the meantime.
