Hello, I was wondering about setting up sales tax on my square dashboard. My customers get to pick where their appointments happen as a part of the service. Meaning within the state my business is located my services can be booked for locations that have different sales tax rates. How do I set that up my dashboard, do I need to enter each individual tax rate for the possible hundreds of locations that customers can choose or does square have a way to automatically calculate it all?
Hi there, @SBSNS,
Thank you for reaching out about this! For clarification, is this for taking Appointments Online? How many locations do you have and are they in multiple states as well?
Hello and thank you for replying, yes it is for taking appointments online. My business is mobile, so I don't technically have a physical location but in terms of square locations I have a single one. The work I do is as a notary public so any in-person appointments have to be in the state I am commissioned in, while I also offer remote services via what is basically a video call meaning customers can be located anywhere basically.
Good evening @SBSNS, stepping in for @Ellie_!
You would have to set up all their services twice, one for each location, especially if you're doing prepayment. If you're doing in-person payment, you can manually select what tax is applied.
