Massage Intake

I am looking for the ability to create a simple massage therapy intake form i can have be required when an appointment is booked. I am not seeing this feature available. I am super disappointed to see square doesn’t seem to offer this simple technology. Acuity (I’m considering a switch from acuity to square) offers this and acuity and square are basically the same parent company, so why hasn’t square added this feature when i see it has been requested multiple times over the past few years? Any idea for an easy work around? I do not want to have clients fill out an intake in office.

I completely agree. Square keeps putting more energy into post-booking emails of forms, but we need the intake form to be required prior to booking.

We started with Acuity, and it was full featured. We ultimately moved over to Square to better track customers/transactions. Hoping Appointments will get some love.

Acuity’s parent company is SquareSpace, which is different from Square/Block.

Having said that, there are a lot of features Square Appointments could/should copy from its competitors.

Hi @andreakennedylm

We dabbled in Acuity 5 years ago before discovering Square Appointments. Acuity definitely had a few nice features that Square lacked but my gosh the other capabilities and general UI experience Square has makes it a worthwhile trade off (for us anyway). It's also come so far in 5 years where as I feel like Squarespace has really dropped the ball with Acuity. Which sucks because Squarespace is an amazing product (and we still actually use this for our website over Square Online which is limited in a lot of areas currently). It goes to show that the unicorn platform still doesn't exist, but for us Square felt the most integrated of all even still having separate website.

But to answer your question, yes this can totally be done using Square Contracts (Dashboard > Customers > Contracts).

It's weird they don't just call it forms so it's a bit more obvious, and really flies under the radar for most I think because contracts is a confusing name haha.

But essentially it allows you to setup forms for automatic sending to clients on bookings etc so perfect for things like consent, terms, health etc.

Square's official guide is here: https://squareup.com/help/au/en/article/7104-contracts
