Impossible to make changes on website

I don't know how (or why I chose square) I ever did this to begin with, but I did. So I have a published site with square to allow people make appointments for whichever service they choose. All i want to do now is 1) change the staff summary for one staff member and 2) add that I am now able to accept ESA payments.

These are easy, simple text changes that I cannot figure out how to do. I know where they are but I have no idea how to change them. And I think that is more than ridiculous. It should be intuitive and a no-brainer for even the most technically challenged person on the internet.

Can someone please either link me to something that does tell me how/where to make these types of edits, or even better, can someone just spell it out for me? Pretend I'm stupid and know absolutely nothing because I'm not sure how much I can actually process.

Hey @MajorD โ€” thanks for reaching out and sharing your frustrations. I know itโ€™s never easy when something feels like it should be simple. I really want to help and make sure you get the answers you need.

Can you clarify what you mean by โ€œchange staff summaryโ€ and โ€œaccept ESA paymentsโ€? This will help me better understand so I can assist.

Ok, well the โ€œaccept esa paymentsโ€ is just a statement I want to add to the business bio section.

the staff summary is exactly that- when you click on staff and you see the staff, they may have a little paragraph describing them. Itโ€™s that little paragraph I want to edit.

HI @MajorD For editing the team member information I don't think you would do it on the website. You would do it through the Square Dashboard. The edit team member section of this help article may be what you are looking for.

Here is the section

  • Sign in to Square Dashboard and go to Staff & payroll > Team > Team members
  • Select a team member
  • Click Appointments, then click Edit next to the section you want to edit:
    • Online booking settings
    • Online booking profile(I think this is what you want to edit)
    • Bookable hours
    • Booking notifications
  • Click Overview, then click Edit next to the section you want to edit:
    • Personal information
    • Permissions
    • Job and compensation: To edit their tip eligibility, click Edit job > toggle ON/OFF Tip eligible.
  • To update their appointments settings or access, select Appointments > Edit next to the section you want to edit.
  • Once all changes have been made, click Done.

One option you can use is the Banner section on your Appointments Square Online page. You can edit the heading and text to include any information about accepting ESA payments, and you can customize the colors and styling as well.

  1. Head to Square Online > Website > Edit
  2. On the Appointments page, from the side panel menu enable "Banner"
  3. Edit the layout and colour of the banner from the side panel
  4. Click the text in the preview to edit

I also have the same issue, and I completely understand the frustration when you can clearly see the information that needs to be changed but cannot figure out where the actual editing option is. Iโ€™ve had similar experiences with website builders where something looks like it should be a simple text edit, but the information is actually connected to a different section of the dashboard, so clicking around the published site doesnโ€™t give you any obvious way to change it. In this case, I would also want to know exactly where the staff memberโ€™s summary is managed and whether it is part of the staff profile, the booking settings, or another section of Squareโ€™s appointment setup. The same applies to adding information about accepting ESA payments, because that sounds like another straightforward piece of information that should be editable without having to rebuild or republish the entire site. It would be really helpful if someone could explain the process in very simple steps, including exactly which area of the Square dashboard to open and what to click, rather than assuming the person already knows how the system is organized.

Thank you for shared experience! It would be fantastic if someone somewhere, or square itself, for that matter, would help!
