The title of this thread has been edited by a Square Moderator from the original: wrong image of location (map) on appointment confirmation message
Hi, how can I change the picture (map) that is automatically sent out after an online booking? On that message, the address is correct, but the image is wrong. Clients get confused about where to go for their appointment.
Thank you for your post, @Grit!
I would be happy to look into this further, but I may need a bit more information:
Once I have these details I can look into further specifics for you.
Hi.
It is in the message after an appointment is booked.
i don't know if it is preselected.
I can send a screen shot. The image of the map is not matching the address. I don't know where to go into settings to fix it.
Thank you for these details, @Grit! Apologies on the slow response.
It does appear the map image is a pre-selected image. Would you be able to please double-check that your address is listed correctly within your Square Location settings? If there is a small error in the address, it could cause an issue with the map image.
Please let me know what you see on your side.
Hi Sammy.
I have checked everywhere, even on Google. I deleted my Yelp because it wouldn't let me change my address, and I thought it was pulling it from there. I don't know where else to look.
Also, the address underneath the image is correct, but on the map it shows it wrong. I hope I make sense
.
This does make sense!
When you look up your business address (exactly as you entered it on Square) on Google, are you getting the same result? Like is the Map location incorrect there too?
Hi @Grit
This is a tricky one!
As @Sammie_C clarified, the map image in Square Appointments confirmation messages is pulled automatically from Google Maps based on the address saved in your Square Location settings. If the address text is correct but the map pin is wrong, it usually means Google’s geocoding is slightly off.
Here are a few things you can try:
Double-check your address format in Square
Go to > Dashboard > Account & Settings > Business Information > Locations
Make sure the address matches Google’s preferred format (including unit numbers, abbreviations, etc.)
Verify on Google Maps
Search your exact address on Google Maps. If the pin is incorrect there, you can suggest an edit to Google Maps – this will help Square pull the right image.
Remove extra location data
If you have multiple locations or old addresses saved, ensure only the correct one is active.
