Appointment message

As messages are super important for me as a salon, when I choose to accept or decline an appointment I always attempt to send a message to my client within the space offered for optional message in the email notification. The issue is that most people will see/read the text message that their appointment is approved or decined before they get to the email. My issue with the text is once the client clicks on the link sent for details about their appointment, they don't see the message I added in the email and they ignore the email and therefore the client is lost. Yes I understand they need to just read the email but it would be helpful for the message I add with detailed info as to accept or decline could be a part of the text and/or in the linked appt detail.

Anybody else with this issue? It's really annoying as I find my clients reaching out to me through other platforms to get answers when I've already attempted to send them communication with the info thru Square.

Customizing your text message is a feature that Square is currently working on...but to my knowledge there isn’t any way to change or add to “text messages” like there is for email messages (insert sad face). I know this may be extra work but perhaps you could write out a generic text message explaining what you need to portray and copy/paste from your phone to theirs (perhaps still save a new client)

Hope this helps a little 🙂

Thanks for the info. I actually do have saved generic responses when I have to accept/decline appointments and I do try to send them messages through the square messaging but they may not have authorized texts from square yet outside of appt notifications. So sometimes its just a little harder when I'm now using my personal phone number to text from when I'm avoiding the clients having my personal phone access. I'm trying to separate business communication from personal and i don't want everyone texting me personally always. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Totally understand. At the moment our website is hosted through wix...they have an additional feature that allows you to have a business phone number (connected to your cell) where clients can call and text to this line. This way they do not have your personal number. Their are other sites who do this as well...perhaps this could help you out some until Square has theirs up and running 🙂
