Appointment Check Outs

Hi!  So I currently have two employees and they share an iPad to check their clients out of.  The iPad has the hardware (Square contactless reader) attached to it so that's why we prefer to use it instead of our cellphones.  Currently we use our own logins but we have to log in and every time we check someone out but is there an easier way as this is taxing especially on a busy day? Can we have one profile that stays logged in that we can all use and that still gives people their appropriate commissions?

Hi @christiema.  What you want is not possible.  In order for transactions to be closed to the right team member so that they get their commissions and credit for the sale, you must do it the way that you are currently doing it.  I scanned the beta boards and do not see any beta that would indicate that there is a pending change in this area.

Having said that, there is a POS setting where you can have the POS sign team members out after a transaction.  This would remind/force employees to sign in again (hopefully under their correct ID number….) to complete the next transaction.

I agree with TheRealChipA...you may benefit from assigning everyone their own unique passcode that they input so that you can keep up with commissions or "who checked who out".  Hopefully this will help you out somewhat 🙂

Ahh I see, thank you.  I automatically assumed since the appointments are booked with a certain employee that no matter what log in checked them out, they would still get the appropriate commission since it's under their schedule.  I guess that is not so?

While your assumption seems logical, it is not correct as you’ve learned. As I understand it this is because while a service might have been assigned to an employee, if another team member actually completed that service that different team member  would need to get the credit and the commission. In order to keep  things consistent, Square always gives credit to the employee who closes the transaction.
