It would be nice if Square could get involved with it, but I read the processing was through Stripe, so I doubt if it would happen. I wish Square and Apple would just incorporate Chat GPT into the ecosystem. I would be much better for me. I have  my Chat GPT account connected to Apple but it is sorta limited.

It does sound interesting.  

I would love to have Chat GPT connected to my account, especially during item creation. I have prompts on ChatGPT setup so I can just drag a photo in and it will analyze the photo and write a description. My wish would be when I drag a photo in the image section, it would be analyzed and automatically write and add the description.

As far as buying through Square on Chat GPT, I’ve been reading up and asking Chat GPT about the process. Chat GPT is using a process called Agentic Commerce Protocol. So in theory Square could be a processor on Chat GPT, if Square will to build a workflow for receiving checkout requests, validating payment tokens, fulfilling orders, etc.

@conrado I have to admit this is fascinating to me. Maybe it's the fact that I'm an old fart, but I can't wrap my head around the logistics of this. Is it really going to be as easy as firing up Chat GPT and saying I need x product and it takes care of the ordering, payment, and everything? Didn't Amazon try that a few years ago with the Amazon Now product and it never took off?

Or am I way out in left field on this one?

I was just listening to a tech podcast breaking down the idea.  I don't personally get it now, as I have never once used it to shop.   I suppose in the future it could become much more commonplace if AI and all this take off the way they are hoping it will.

I used ChatGPT to find a ceiling fan speed controller that had the proper amperage to control multiple ceiling fans. Being able to just click Buy would be amazing.

@TCSlaguna You bring up a good point. I spent over an hour trying to find an obscure part for my car the other day with no luck. I then remembered Chat GPT and it gave me exactly what I needed to get with one query. I then spent another few minutes trying to find the part at a decent price. Having that integration would have been nice.
