Our purpose is for you to find connection, advice, encouragement, and community with fellow women in business and allies. This community is built for and by you, so make it your own.

First step: Introduce yourself in this thread! We want to get to know each and everyone one of you here. Stuck on how you should introduce yourself to other lady bosses? Here are some things to cover: Tell us who you are, what you’re working on and what type of business you own. If you have an online store, feel free to share with the group!

Our guiding principles

We all want productive, friendly conversation propelling us forward. Keep these in mind when posting:

• Share actionable information/material. We want this group to provide advice and actions that you can implement immediately to improve your business. Give context when asking questions and be detailed in your responses. Post about the difficult things so we can figure out an answer together as a community.
• Assume good intent. Tone on the internet is very difficult to convey. Let’s assume that everyone posting here comes from a place of good intention, so we can do the same. If anything feels amiss, please report it to our moderators.
• Treat your fellow sellers with respect. We all come from different backgrounds and may not always agree with one another, but we can always treat each other with respect. We have a zero tolerance policy for harassment or abuse of sellers or moderators because this should be a happy place on the internet.
• No spam or excessive self promotion. We’ve all seen those groups with the same people posting the same thing every single day. Let’s respect each other’s time and refrain from this type of excessive self promotion. But, by all means, when it’s time to celebrate you, shout that accomplishment from the rooftops!

Hello, my name is Monica and I’m the owner of La’ Boutique House of Fashion and located in New Orleans, La. I’ve been in business since 2011 and started off with a friend 👎🏾 lesson learned. Was discouraged along the way, life happened, but never gave up the dream because it’s what I really want. Decided I was going to put my all into it so here I am. I only have a few items in my shop but I’m moving along slowly. My biggest challenge is creative marketing. Glad to be here and I look forward to learning from you all. Happy Holidays. 💖

At Pau's General Store, we are a Gift Shop that carries Unique, High Quality, Handmade gifts that are Made in the USA! We also carry items from local artists and we offer free gift wrapping with every purchase. We are all about Celebrating Every Day because there is always a reason to find a little joy and sunshine in your day. 

We are in a small town in Central New York and are run by two sisters, Rebecca Fox and Elizabeth Blake. We have a makers room for artists to work on their craft viewable to the public. Currently the artist in the room is Co-Owner Elizabeth Blake. 

We started November 2020 and have been met with good vibes. After Christmas we have hit that obvious slump and are working our way through it. 

We have a website and get visitors but haven't figured out how to create sales out of that, especially in this Covid season.

Hello! My name is Chanell. I'm the owner of Original People Jewelry Co which is an online jewelry store. The website is opjewelryco.com. My jewelry catalog contains a variety of styles from Afrocentric, Bohemian, and Classic Jewelry. I launched at the end end of November. So far I've sold primarily to friends, family, friends of friends, and just very few unrelated customers. I'm trying to learn about marketing and different ways to increase my sales and improve my social media presence. This is proving to be a lot harder than I though it would be lol.... But I'm committed and will keep pushing. Any advice from others I the group? Do you think things will pick up when COVID is under control?
