checked out on wrong date

Hello and need help. I was at the checkout point with my men's haircut and he re-booked an appointment for a month down the line. When I went to take his payment (cash) I accidentally checked him out on the new appointment date. So I cancelled that appointment and re-booked it thinking it would not only erase the appointment but the payment too. Then I checked him out on the current date. At the end of the day in Reports it came out that I made more income than I did. It counted his haircut twice. When I click on his transaction though it only shows he paid once. How do I make my books match up as I only collected from him once, not twice as Square reports? Sorry so confusing, Thanks!

It sounds like you may have made two separate transactions - one as "other" and one with actual funds from taken from the customers card.

Since the incorrect transaction didn't collect any funds through our system but is simply there for record keeping purposes, we would recommend identifying the duplicate transaction and issuing a refund. This process will balance your books going forward - although you will always see a refunded transaction.
