Square online updates and Doordash integration - BS

This past month we were asked to "upgrade" to square for restaurants online ordering update. It was a bit of an upgrade but with many features that left me thinking "why would they not include this"

The feature I am speaking to is that in the square item you have an option to add a name for Doordash items, however when they "upgraded" us this feature no longer works and all the wrong names are showing up on doordash with no fix in sight.

I spoke with a CS rep and they escalated it to a tech and told me that it was a "feature" that may be added in the future. Lol, WHAT THE F***. Why would you not include a feature like this when you force everyone to transition to a new platform? Now my business looks like a joke on doordash because items are listed as what they are in our square platform. I can't fix it because square publishes with they have and doordash takes what is available. If you update doordash with new names it will ALWAYS revert back to what square says.

What else is also broken you ask? Square no longer pushes updated pictures to doordash, so if you had them there before this "upgrade" then you're fine. If you add new pictures then they will not be published to doordash.

Also, If you add an item to the square menu for doordash it will automatically publish as available on doordash EVEN IF THE ITEM HAS 0 QUANTITY FOR SALE.. so beware if your item is in the planning stage and not ready for prime time. Last week we had guests order several cupcakes that were waiting to be added and sadly we had to reach out to them and decline the order, and further more we had to deactivate our store while we figured out wtf was going on.

The only good thing I see coming from this is that you can now successfully push a 30% increase to doordash instead of the maximum 20% that doordash sets.

To be completely honest, I don't think square even beta tested this to make sure it works. It seems like they just pushed the update and thought that it would be fine.

Thanks for coming to my TEDtalk

Hi, @ajconcepts - Thanks for your feedback. My name is Violet and I'm one of the Moderators here in the Square Community.

First, I'd like to make sure you've seen our Community Code of Conduct. We ask that members be respectful and collaborative, and approach interactions here from a place of curiosity. In this post, your use of profanity does not fall within these guidelines.

We want to make sure that The Community is a collaborative environment where anyone can ask or answer a question and expect a respectful response. While it's okay to be frustrated or disagree, please keep these guidelines in mind during future interactions and posts. Thank you for your attention and understanding.

Now onto your questions regarding the recent changes to our DoorDash integration, I've confirmed that the "preferred name" feature for DoorDash is no longer supported. As for newly added items publishing to DoorDash, despite the quantity being set to zero, I'll have to reach out to our DoorDash integration team to confirm whether that's expected behavior.

I'll provide an update for you, once I receive more information. Thank you for your patience in the meantime.
