The title of this thread has been edited by a Square Moderator from the original: "The Death of Weebly"
Our site has structure errors and indexing errors that hurt us HUGE in Google Indexing
No one can fix but your support team .. and your guys don't help at all, its honestly frustrating as we have thousands of hours of work into this site and pay just as much as all your other customers.
We shouldn't have to build a work around to fix this issue. You guys need to fix it PLEASE
Since Square took over Weebly our website customers have plummeted. We've done everything we can from our end, from hiring SEO guys to Website guys ... who all say it's Square and we can't help
And you won't help us on your end blaming everything on SEO issues ... that we cannot fix
A Very Frustrating and Expensive Circle
And now we find out your are pulling the plug on Weebly? Now we know why you're not helping, and what will happen to our site and the work we've done?
As a Weebly customer we would really like to know what's going to happen to our site when your guys pull the plug next July ... Thank you
Hi @FBP - Thanks for reaching out to us here on the Square Seller Community👋 I apologize that we haven't addressed your question sooner.
To my understanding, we've guaranteed that the Weebly site editor will still be available up until at least July 2025, but I don't think that necessarily means that we'll for sure be deprecating it at that time. I haven't heard of any plans being set in stone yet for the Weebly editor, so it could very well still be something we support beyond that date. If/when a final decision gets made regarding the Weebly site editor, our Sellers will definitely receive notice far in advance.
Unfortunately, we're unable to provide extensive support for SEO. I'm happy to provide this support article on editing SEO settings in Square Online. Beyond this, we would suggest that you continue working with an SEO professional for further assistance.
Hi @FBP,
Thanks for letting us know you’re still having troubles with your site indexing.
I can see that you reached out to the Community about this last month, and Violet provided you with some support resources and advice. Apologies if we’ve missed something, but we don’t appear to have received anything else here on the Community from you about this, prior to that.
If you’ve reached out to Customer Success directly, please keep in mind that the Community is a public forum. For that reason, we don’t have the same account level access that our support counterparts would. Rather, the Community is a space where Sellers and Moderators can come together to hopefully solve problems, and discuss ideas that can benefit the wider community, as well as individual Sellers.
While we wouldn’t be in a position to consult on SEO, if you’d like to share some specifics about the indexing issues or errors you’ve encountered, I’d be happy to dig a little deeper to see if there is anything we could suggest. It may be a case that other Sellers on the Community have experience with the sitemap, or structure issues you referenced in your previous post.
If you could also share a link to your site, that would be much appreciated.
Thanks!
Ugh, structure and indexing errors are the worst! Have you tried reaching out to Square support directly? Their team might be able to offer some insights even if Weebly support hasn't been helpful.
We have reached out to Weebly to Square, both USA and Canada about our Sitemap first and the Structure issues second, at first they said its a SEO issue and we do not help with SEO.
So we hired a SEO guy who then said we cannot help you with SEO until you fix your structure issues, We explained my Sitemap issue to the SEO guy who said you need to hire a Website guy, OK done.
He spent 5 hours to tell us there is nothing I can do, its a Square issue ...
We again talk to support they say its a SEO issue we need to hire someone ... this has been going on for about 3-4 months now so we don't know what do do anymore other then to reach out here and see if they respond ... crickets so far
