Reference or invoice numbers on debit card for fraudulent charges?

I recently found out that charges were made with my debit card to FedEx. I called FedEx and ask them about these charges and they said with out some type of reference number they can not help me. I checked my card statement and called Square support and they said they do not have any reference numbers for payments? I have $4,500 of fraudulent charges that Square said were valid charges. Even though I did not make or authorize the payment I have no way of checking with FedEx to find why I was charged or any information about the charge.

Hi @awc - I'm sorry to hear that this has brought you to the Seller Community 😞

We do not have reference numbers for Square Card transactions. For unauthorized charges on our Square Card, you'll need to file a dispute through Square. You can follow the steps for the dispute process here in our Support Center. Once you have submitted the information on these transactions, we'll begin our investigation. We’ll make sure you receive the results of our investigation via email. While we settle most disputes within 30 to 60 days, some may take longer.

Additionally, we recommend ordering a new card directly from the Square app, or from your online Square Dashboard. You can also opt in to receiving SMS alerts on your account when high-risk transactions occur, such as international purchases, Card not Present (CNP) transactions, or declined transactions to help prevent this from happening again in the future.

I hope this information is helpful but please do let me know if you have any additional questions.
