I've taken a look at your case here and the issue seems to be regarding several disputes filed against your Square Account by the cardholder for transactions processed on 1/12/22. We're unable to go into specifics here on the Seller Community platform, given this is a public platform. However, I can see that a response to these disputes filed by the cardholder's bank has been sent by Square on 13/12/22. Any information you submitted to support these transactions will be included in your dispute response.
For additional context here, when a payment dispute occurs, Square places a hold on the disputed funds in your Square account until the dispute gets cleared up. This is because the customer’s bank has just taken the funds from us, and we need to cover that amount. If there aren’t enough funds available in your Square account, we’ll have to debit your linked bank account to cover the disputed amount. If the bank rules against you, those funds are returned to the cardholder. If the bank rules in your favour, the funds will be returned to you.
Square doesn’t decide who wins or loses a dispute—that’s up to the bank that issued your customer’s credit card (e.g. Visa, MasterCard, or American Express). It can take up to 90 days for them to inform us of their decision. We are unable to expedite this process once the case has been handed back to the bank for review. We’ll notify you of the ruling by email (and on your Disputes Dashboard) as soon as we hear about it.
