Today 2/6/2023 We cannot accept payments and offline mode won't work.  We are a busy restaurant and we are full for lunch.  How is this even possible for square to have this big of an outage?  I don't need or want TikTok integration, I want a stable platform.

Oh no!!! Did you contact Square support? I had this happen once at a Farmer's Market. Total panic mode. We had a line at least 8 people long and the readers just wouldn't ring up orders. Ended up giving people half off if they scanned our Venmo or QR code for Square and put in their own cc number just until we got back online. But it took almost an hour and definitely raised tensions that day.  Hope you got this all worked out and in time to save some of your customers (and their experiences)!

Credit is unable to be taken at the moment and I cannot get through to a customer services rep. Anyone else having issues?

Yes!  I believe square is having issues, I saw something about it.  It has been out since this morning!  Hurting our already slow business!!

Well, that answers my question - I was hoping to be able to use offline mode as a work-around, but it appears from your post that isn't an option, either. 😞  Yeah - it's already a slow time. The last thing our business needed was the inability to process CC transactions.

Us too. Followed normal offline payment protocols with the bounds of the terms of service. Money lost and no response yet from Square.

I have not had any credit card transactions offline disappear yet reading other boards it does seems to be a problem. I'm going to cash only or venmo until things are resolved.

We've had several "Offline" payments come back later as Failed. It's not the card being declined.

Us too. Lost $121 plus cogs plus opp. cost today. This isn't right. That's a loss for the day. Square needs to make this right.

You should check before using offline mode. We're getting "payment failed" after the customer is gone.

I don't know what is happening!  I am online not offline.  I have several missing credit card transactions.  Obviously as a business owner I am very upset as I am loosing money.  What could the cause of this?  This cant happen going forward.

Square is actively working on a fix, please note I don't work for Square and I'm an impacted customer as well.

 

Whenever it looks like it's having a hard time processing or going offline I highly recommend going to cash only and printing out an extra receipt. 

 

I know it's frustrating and believe me they need to implement a better system for "offline" mode because transactions that go through and then disappear are not acceptable. That will be my constant communication to Square going forward as I've lost previous transactions and I lost a transaction today which not only throws off my inventory but causes me to lose money.

 

Anyways, again, check https://www.issquareup.com/ and they will update it once it's fixed.
