Do you have to be certain nationality or have certain orientation to not get discriminated by square

After each transaction initiated by my weekly students/customers square freezers my funds making them inaccessible. While getting brutally mistreated by so-called support team the excuses presented are: 1. account is under review, funds aren't available. 2. We can not locate your account with information you provided.

My phone number associated with my square account has been blocked by insert automated message "the wireless customer you calling can not be reached."

Upon speaking to one of the square supervisors i was told that they dont like the way i speak, they dont like my name and my nationality. And that my number will remain to be blocked and funds will be held for unknown period of time after each transaction.

@Prometheus

If you're serious about wanting help, tossing out accusations of discrimination without proof...no one is going to care about your account or problems.  It is 2025, no one I have met at square cares about what you look like, how you sound, where you are from.  Everyone I have met at square does care about helping you run a business, because when we make money, square makes money.  Simple.

I learned a long time ago that egocentric bias will have you seeing those accusations in every interaction, when in reality, they won't remember you name is 4.68 seconds after the call.  Trust me, I have short term memory like a goldfish on a sugar high somedays.

Now, on to the practical part: new accounts with certain transaction patterns do often trigger review holds, it’s fraud prevention.  If you’re account is new and you take big non in-person payment...anything where they can't dip or tap the card...then those are the transactions with the highest rate of real fraud.  This is true across the board in the processing industry.  Square has an algorithm, I am positive that the flag on any account that has this pattern is computer generated before a human ever looks at it.

So bottom line, if you care about the money and your business, fight Square on the process and keep it grounded in facts.  You hurt your argument way more than making a point.  I say this as a seller, and from experience, this is the best advice to actually get your problem resolved.  The forum mods and employees at square genuinely want to help, just like me.

Sorry @Prometheus you're having trouble with your Square account. Have you ever successfully processed and received payments through your Square account? Has it ever been verified? I suspect that either your charges are somehow connected to a foreign bank/card holder (thus requiring further vetting to prevent any kind of fraud, from anyone); this happens no matter anyone's nationality, race, gender, etc. It's simply a matter of geography. Because Square is a financial services company located in the United States, it is required by US Law to abide by certain codes, policies, regulations, related to general issues with potential fraud and counter-terrorism due to global events that have been transpired by bad actors. Don't take this personally, this vetting happens with everyone.

If it's not anything associated with a foreign transaction, the next red flag may be either transactions of a very large amount, or infrequent transactions. Are you processing very large amounts, or processing on an irregular basis?? These again may trigger more stringent account reviews to prevent any fraud from anyone, from any place, from any nationality.

There is simply NO DISCRIMINATION at Square. I've dealt with them for almost a decade and I'm proud to call them an essential partner for my business. There are Square users all across the globe, in many genders, countries, nationalities, races, accents, persuasions, colors, creeds, religions, etc.

IF someone who works at Square told you they didn't like the way you speak, 100% is was probably because you were being rude or disrespectful. It's hard to know what really transpires between two parties when the entire conversation isn't being shared or disclosed.

I hope this gets resolved for you. My best advise is not to process any more transactions with Square until your account is fully verified and/or you receive a satisfactory response to your issues.
