Bar Inventory - Ingredient Tracking / Stock reporting

Please can we have stock in/out reporting for tracking all measures of drinks sold for bar/restaurant?  It's beyond crazy that this isn't a feature?  We need multiple measures of one ingredient sales across all products - Why can this not be done?

Please advise - This seems to be taking Square so long to sort out.

Hi @Steven_Burlton, thanks for posting and welcome to the Community 👋.

I understand how such a report would benefit bar and restaurant businesses. This is still a feature request at this stage, but I'll make sure to let you know once it's available. 

In the meantime, I have a found a couple of APIs integrating with Square, that might fit what your needs. Both Craftable and Growyze offer an inventory management tool for hospitality businesses. The integrations are not managed by Square, so if you have any questions about their software programs, I recommend contacting them directly.

I’m having the same issue. 

I find it beyond belief that I can’t add a 700 ml bottle of spirit to my stock and the the system know each time I sell -

a 25 ml shot, or use another measure such as 35ml in a cocktail. 

I’m still waiting for my pos system to arrive so it’s not even in yet and this is a major issue! 

any timescale on when square I’ll join all other pos systems that work well for bars?

While stock conversion is a feature available with Square for Retail, what you're trying to achieve would be a feature request.

@Lou8 ..... illustrating my point, it has been requested several times as a feature, but seems to fall on deaf ears. I'm sure i did a post a while back with all the links to every time it was requested. I know you guys now have a feature request system, so not sure it is on there, but it is a popular request

I understand your frustration @iain697 @Jamesrbn.

The implementation of new features is a complex process and requires a lot of work from cross-functional teams. Our engineering team needs to establish whether a feature is doable and meets the necessary requirements. In addition, external factors can add extra layers of complexity to the process. 

Though I don't have a timeline to share at the moment, I will make sure to let you know of any developments.

I understand that, but are there plans to do it, if you tell me its being worked on ill be happy. 

At the moment square has this odd quirk where 

restruants is a great app for bars but cant track stock variable 

retail is a rubbish app for bars but can track variables

how hard is it to merge it into a new app called......Square for bars?

The feature is on the roadmap, but I don't have a release date to communicate at this stage.
