Hi there, so I recently sold something in person with a customer and this was my first transaction where I didn’t create any kind of item or sale. He wanted to just use it like PayPal (sending me money through here) so he transferred debit/credit through to my account and it shows up under my “Transactions” but when I go to my Balance it says 0, and because my balance is 0 I’m not able to move my money to my bank account. Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks!

This sounds a bit strange, at surface view. Square does not offer any money transfer option through our product offering, so I'm a bit stumped on this one.
We don't have access to account specific information or reporting here from the Seller Community so I can't take a direct look at your account, but my guess is that you have taken a transaction as Cash or Other Tender. This means that no monetary value was actually taken electronically through Square - this option is simply for record keeping purposes - acting as if you took a payment with cash or check.
You should be able to confirm how your payment was taken by selecting the transaction from the Transactions tab in your App or Online Dashboard. You can learn more about cash or other tender transactions here.
If you have remaining questions or want to confirm details about your issue, I would recommend reaching out to our Support Team. They can discuss account specific information with you.

I’m actually not sure if I’ve been scammed since I’ve never used the app before. But I do have a screen shot of what I have. So he never paid me cash or any kind of cheque. He said it could be forwarded through his phone to mine and so I agreed.
Any way to help would be great. I’m just trying to figure out if I’ve been scammed since I don’t understand this app!

Looking at your pay, I see that the payment was recorded as “Other” rather than “Contactless”, which is the only way to accept Interac Debit payments through Square.
When tipping is enabled, in order to accept Interac payments through Square, you’ll need to select Contactless and have your customer tap to complete payment. If tipping is not enabled, proceed through the checkout flow by tapping Charge and having your customer tap their debit card.
If you use another payment processor to accept other types of debit, you can track them through the Square Point of Sale app by selecting Other and then Credit/Debit as your payment type. Complete by tapping Record Card Payment. The Other Tender features are available for organizational purposes only. No funds are actually processed when a payment is entered as cash or other tender, and we’re not able to process these transactions as payment card information was never actually entered into our system. To process these funds and receive the deposit, you will need to contact your customer.

Have the same thing on my end with a recent invoice. Sent the invoice customer paid via credit card on his end. Shows the transaction, all good. Went to settings to go from automatic transfer to manual and balance is $0.00 go back and switch to automatic transfers and transfer of the full amount shows pending.
