How do you create a discount 3 items for $5.00

I am selling an item for $3.00 individually but would like to offer my customers 3 of the item for $5.00. How do I do this?

Hi @SueChrist, thanks for reaching out! You can create a discount for $4.00 and apply this manually at checkout whenever a customer purchase 3 of of the particular items. 

To create a discount from your Dashboard:

1. Visit Items > Discounts in your online Square Dashboard.

2. Click Create a Discount.

3. Enter the discount details – including the discount name, amount (either percentage or amount in pounds) and applicable locations.

4. When you’re all set, click Save.

From the Square App:

1. Tap the three horizontal lines > Items.

2. Tap Discounts > Create Discount or select a discount to modify.

3. Enter the discount details and tap Save.

Thank you Tranguyen! This is most helpful. One last question : Can the discount created on my Square Dashboard be used on my Online store at checkout?.  Again, thank you for your help and in anticipation for your answer to the above question

Glad to hear it helped @SueChrist! At the moment, discounts created on your Square Dashboard won't work with your Online store. To offer this type of discount, you can:

• Set up a coupon code and provide this to customer so they can avail of the discount amount ($4.00) OR
• You can set up a separate item called "[Item name] Bundle" and set it at the desired price. The drawback of this workaround is that it can caused inventory confusion, since the bundle item inventory won't be drawn from the same inventory as the individual item.
