my Stand recognizes my reader but will not take a card

Setting up stand with chip reader. I’m doing the tutorial, pushed button and got orange. Then I slid the reader back into its cradle. I put in a credit card w/chip but NOTHING!? No beep or 4 green lights?!

At the top of the screen in your PoS app, do you have either a black bar that says "Reader Ready" or an orange bar that says "Reader Not Connected"? If there is no bar present the app isn't seeing the reader at all.

There are troubleshooting steps in this help article, but the biggest thing is to make sure the reader is fully charged. Also, please note the reader will not work if your stand tablet isn't connected to the internet.
