Why is square reporting ANYTHING to IRS?

We're reaching out to notify you that the IRS has identified the name and tax identification number (TIN) combination we have on file for your Square account does not match their records. To ensure all of your sales are being reported correctly, and to avoid the possibility of future account closure, we highly recommend updating your tax information as soon as possible.
Visit your Square Dashboard to update your account information. The name and TIN (SSN or EIN) in the first two boxes of the TAXPAYER INFORMATION section of the TAX FORMS page in your Dashboard must match the name and TIN that you use to file your tax returns.
