Why does my exported inventory file not include all of my options?

I have been able to successfully export my inventory, modify items and then import back into inventory. I am trying to add items, however, the exported inventory file does not include the options that I had already set up to add descriptive details. Is there a simple explanation?

Thanks for posting in the Seller Community.

I am not quite sure what you mean. Are you trying to add items in the excel spread sheet and then import them? 

Would you mind taking a screenshot of what you're seeing? The template for importing items should have all the same columns to fill in the same information as your existing items.

All of the variations appear in my description rather in individual columns. This format is difficult to mimic in adding new items. Is this working correctly? What am I missing?
