I try to add categories and subcategories to my website but it is really frustrating. When I add the categories, sometimes they show up with luck and most of the time it does not. For example, I had to clear my cache for the "Apparel" category to show up and the subcategory "Tops" to show up. But when I tried to do it again, the other subcategories did not show up. I tried switching browsers as well and cookies are enabled but it still wont update. This isn't the first time the categories and subcategories were not showing up. Before I cleared the cache, I did the exact same steps to add categories through the "edit site -> edit navigation" and "items -> categories" and the categories did not show up on the site. It seems that at random times when I try different methods, it fixes but then when I try that method again, it does not fix it anymore. Is there one simple solution that works every time to fix this? This is getting really annoying as I always have trouble making the categories and subcategories show up. If anyone can please help me. Thank you ahead of time. I've included the photos below to help with the understanding of this problem.
Thanks for providing these screenshots! I think I know where the different behaviors here are coming from - the site navigation does not automatically update to include Categories, unlike what the sidebar navigation will do on the Shop All page.
Please let me know if this doesn't quite clarify what you're seeing on your website when adding categories and subcategories, @thearrow5.
hi, I'm having a similar problem. How did you fix it?
Do categories/sub categories naturally flow into to navigation/sub navigation slots? If so, how?
Are you asking if categories automatically create a link in your navigation, @NT2020?
If so, I can confirm that they do not, but you can add them manually. I hope this helps ✨
