I have managed to get Square Reader to work with one phone, but can not get it to connect to a Nokia 2.4 running Android 11. It looks like it is connecting but then reports Device Not Supported and Secure Session Denial. There doesn't seem to be any mention of Nokia in Supported Devices list, seems like a major manufacturer to omit? When the Square App is trying to connect with Bluetooth the phone's own software also opens asking whether to accept the pairing, so perhaps there is a conflict?

Hi @AGHjazz, thank you for raising this.
Nokia devices are not currently supported by Square so that's usually why the error messages are coming up on the app when you're trying to pair the reader.
There are several thousand Android devices on the market, and we strive to support them all. In some cases, however, the Android device may meet all the requirements for compatibility but still not communicate properly with the Square hardware or the Square apps.
To help you figure out exactly what devices you can use, check out our compatibility page to see that Android devices that we can guarantee will work.
If you’ve already placed an order for a reader, once it arrives, you can also return it within 30 days of the purchase date.

Thanks for your reply, is this something which is likely to be resolved and updated? We also have a Sony Xperia phone - Sony is also not on the compatible list. Sony and Nokia are pretty major manufacturers not to be supported. It is surprising that the phone hardware has such an effect, I would have expected the app to work on any recent Android device.

Our team are always testing device compatibility and will update the list accordingly so we recommend keeping an eye on it for any changes.
