Trouble with uploading images to item

Hello, I am attempting to upload images to an item, and I keep getting the same error of "Image not uploaded. Confirm the file type is valid and the image size is 15MB or smaller."

For the year I've use my iPhone to take the images and then export them as JPEGs and I've never had this issue until today. I've confirmed that all the images are under 15MB and I was positive JPEG was a valid file type for Square images (unless that changed recently).

What's more frustrating is that this error doesn't always pop-up. I was able to create and save an item that had images that were larger than the other images that the error pops up on.

I have also tried clearing the cache and cookies on Google Chrome and restarting the browser

Anybody else experiencing this or have any fixes?

Thanks!

@user41 ;

What is your process for uploading the picture after you take it with your Iphone?

I took pictures on my cell then emailed to my self to upload them through the dashboard.  If I needed to I could adjust the image using Paint to the correct size or format.

Now I use an Ipad through the Square app in Items and click the edit for the image where I can take the picture right away.

Just make sure you have a good internet or cell signal when trying to upload the images.

You should be able to just install the Square app on your Iphone too.

I airdrop them from my phone to a Mac and use the Square dashboard. The images are .HEIC and then I export them to JPEG (where I can select and change the size of them)

I usually take a batch of pictures at once and then create the item and select the images I need from a folder. Each item is unique so I have hundreds of item in the item library

@user41, can you provide a screenshot of the error message so I can take a deeper look?

After editing them on your Mac (size and format to JPEG), what type of name do you give the new picture?

I am asking because I was uploading pictures to my website and found out my Image Names were incompatible.  I am not sure if this is the case but could be an easy fix.  For example if I uploaded a Picture x686964.jpg, I had no issue.  But if I uploaded French Vanilla.jpg I had an issue and could not upload the image or it would upload then not appear in marketing emails.  I learned the the ( " " ) blank space between "h V" was causing the error.  So I could use the SKU like I showed or change the name from "French Vanilla" to "FrenchVanilla" and had no issue with my website. Its small things like this that drive me crazy.   Since I make all my image files with no space now, I am not sure if this could be your issue too.  I also have started using the .png format for some of my pictures as Square says png or jpg works, for something else to try if you can.

For me I use the Drag and Drop for some of my pictures.

I open my image Folder and slide it to the left.  I can see or scroll through my images.

I then log into my Square Dashboard - Items - Create the item - and the click the Tile where the image is and Edit it to drag and drop my image there.   Wait for it to upload and the tile should change to the image if it works.

The name is usually similar to 'IMG_7828 2.jpeg'

Thank you for the suggestions, unfortunately none of them have worked.

I removed the spaces in the image names, renamed the images to 'image1', 'image2', etc and still receive the error.

I've also tried this with both jpeg and png as the file type.

The closest I got it to working was I drag and dropped an image to the Image Tile and it turned gray without any error message, but nothing showed up after that
