Transferred to the wrong bank, trying to figure out what happened

So apparently the entire year, whenever I used Square, it was transferring my money to the wrong bank. Any time I used the POS system at a market, it was sending it to my checking account and not my savings. I didn't notice for a while and it messed me up big time with my funds!

 

My question is, can I get some insight on how this got so screwed up, and how I can avoid doing it in the future? Where are all the settings located that I need to go through in order to make sure my money gets transferred to the right bank?

 

I already just went to the Transfers tab and added the correct bank. Strangely, it didn't have any bank linked at all, so I have money pending from that as well? So why did that money not transfer to my checking like the other money did, because it was via an online sale and not from the POS?

 

My only guess is that I had "instant transfers" selected somehow (don't remember doing it but it's possible) and that it was automatically transferring to my debit card and not my savings. So perhaps now that I've added the savings and set a transfer schedule, it will be fixed? I also have another website hooked up to Square through this account, but surely that isn't affecting what happens to the transfers?

 

 

There seems to be a separation between sales made in person and sales made online. It's a bit confusing, so I want to make sure I'm covering all my bases, and never transferring money to the wrong account again.

It happened again! Today, I got a purchase via my website, and it sent it to the wrong bank account again, even after changing the info as described above. I have discovered I have two locations listed for my square business:

 

"Pickup Location"

and one that is named after my website.

 

So....

 

Is there another place I need to access that has the bank transfer settings for my website's "location?" It seems that changing the bank account information the other day only applied to "Pickup Location."

Hmmm we weren't able to find any recent transfers, but looks like past transfers all went to the same account. 

 

Maybe it is a different account than the one you're writing from? 

If so, let me know the email address associated with the account in a private message and I will take a look.
