Square register can't find item by scanning gtin with barcode reader

Square Register won't find an item by scanning the upc barcode with a scanner, but will find it if I type it in manually. I've also noticed the GTIN field doesn't show up in Register? Why? It's obviously able to access that field.

@TheDapperDude Square Register doesnt support the GTIN yet. There has been talk about a release coming out in a few days that will add it to Square for Retail on Square Register. It is unclear if that release (or any release) will support GTIN scanning on the Square for POS app on Square Register though, regardless of what subscription you've purchased.

I ended up resetting the Square Register and it started using the GTIN for lookup.

As of version 4.25.0024, Square Register supports GTIN scanning when in Square for Retail mode only (not in Square POS mode, the one with the pretty picture buttons)
