Two Major issues are now haunting me:
1) Previously reported: I cannot delete an unpublished site. This was reported about a week ago and has not been resolved.
2) I just duplicated my site, or so the link said it would. This worked about seven or eight days ago with Weebly. Today after a short delay it came back and said done. It DID NOT, did I make that clear? It DID NOT duplicate my site! It took me to a blank page to create a site for a cell phone. After some searching, I was able to change it to a BLANK desktop site. But the problem remained it DID NOT duplicate my site like it used to with WEEBLY! Furthermore, when I tried to edit this site, it was a completely different view than I get with editing my other site.
HI, Square DID some serious changes. "Weebly" as you KNEW it, is NO MORE. Create the site on the Square Online Dashboard.
No your reply DOES NOT HELP! My site was created in Weebly so I still have to use the Weeby tools, which Square allows to a point. To develop the site in Square looks like I would have to start over from ground zero, or perhaps even in the negative level as I have an entire relearning requirement. All I see from Square are problems, such as not being able to delete an unwanted site, and loosing features that once existed.
Perhaps my initial look at Square is wrong, but it looks to be less mature than Weebly. At a minimum it is significantly different and Square made no plans for a graceful transition for the Weebly users. This is very poor planning on the Square product. Are you expecting me develop the web pages in hymn, xtml, ….? Are you expecting me to use a ftp app to upload my code?
Yes Weebly had issues such as very limited text capabilities but the existing Weebly pages are dependent upon the Weebly tools. The Copy option, (which didn’t as I earlier mentioned) did not even convert the Weebly design into an equivalent Square site.
HI, from other posts on this board, Square DID send emails to all "Weebly" users stating the fact of moving to Square to "gracefully transition". Square offered, for a limited time, to move the website. If no reply to accept the move, then you are expected to move the site yourself. Yes, now all are expected to recreate the whole site. Square is not "less mature", its DIFFERENT. Its easier to use. It removed several options and features, for better or worse. All edits to a website within the Editor made user friendly. No access to xtml, code, no back end user availability.
Correction, Square DID NOT send out emails to all Weebly users! I recently joined Weebly, apparently after the rumored email was sent out. There was a hidden hint from when I click on Weebly signin it took me to a Square login, BUT THERE WAS NO NOTIFICATION WHEN I SIGNED IN OF THE UPCOMING CHANGE. I FEEL LIKE I WASTED A LOT OF TIME DEVELOPING THE WEEBLY SITE. NEEDLESS TO SAY IT IS VERY FRUSTRATING.
HI, Square DID send out an email. You are a recent subscriber so you would not have received it. I agree, Square needs to remove the "Weebly.com" portal. It is deceiving. In very small print it states Square. Yes, immediately when it took you to Square that is the clear indication it is Square. Yes, time wasted.
