I don't have the option to connect my card reader to the app. I don't want to leave a low rating because I know this has potential, but it is bugged, and I can't connect my card reader at all. Please help because I have tried everything from restarting to deleting the app, and nothing helps.

The biggest issues with this are :
Check your phone settings for Bluetooth Connections and see if the Reader is there. Deleted / Forget etc any devices you do not recognize then go through the Square App to connect the Bluetooth device. If the Square app can not find the Device it is usually because it is already connected to a device. Each Reader can only be connected to one device, such as one phone or tablet at a time.
