Please help to set up Ethernet Sticky Label Printer Star TSP654IISK Sticky Label Printer

I purchased a Ethernet Sticky Label Printer Star TSP654IISK Sticky Label Printer on Square store and thought it was an easy set up but there is no instructions how to install it. I called Star Micronics support line but no answer. I called Square Customer Line and the first agent transferred me to a Square Support agent who told me I need to pay $60/month for subscription to be able to use it. That does not make any sense! Would anyone please help me with the instructions how to set up the printer please please! I have a cafe and using Ipad/Square App for my POS. Thank you in advance

Hi @Tcup thanks for reaching out and sorry to hear you've had difficulty in setting up your label printer!

While I can't comment on the information that was provided to you over the phone, I can speculate the customer advocate may have been referring to the ability to generate bar code labels from your online Square Dashboard, save them as a PDF or print them from a supported label printer. This feature is only available via the Square for Retail Plus plan.

 

However, it's not really relevant here as you're just wanting to set up your label printer. The good news is that connecting a label printer to your Square POS follows the same steps as if you were connecting a receipt and kitchen printer. I've included the steps below for connecting your printer and creating labels.

To connect your compatible label printer to your device:

 

1. Open the Square app, tap More > Settings.
2. Tap Hardware > Printers > Create Printer Station.
3. Tap Printer and select your printer.
4. Tap Print Test. Under the section Use this printer for, toggle on whether you’d like to print: Receipts, In-person order tickets, Order ticket stubs or Void tickets.
5. Tap Save.

 

To create your own professional sticky labels directly on the Square Point of Sale iOS app:

 

1. Open the Square app, tap More > Settings.
2. Tap Hardware > Printers > Create Printer Station.
3. Tap Printer and select your Star TSP654IISK label printer.
4. Under the section Use this printer for, toggle on In-person order tickets.
5. Turn on single item per ticket. Note: You can select compact ticket to save paper.

Thank you very much Laurie for you help! So before I even set up my IPad Square POS as your instructions here.

 

 

I need instructions before that, the printer come with only the power cable to power the printer on so I plug in and what next steps to set up the printer? Do I need to download any Star TSP app to my iPad? There is 2 lights on the front of the printer! What do I need to do now? Do I need some kind of cable to connect the printer to my iPad or pair it using Bluetooth? Please help

Hello there @Tcup 

 

Since your printer is an Ethernet printer it would need to be connected to your Modem or Router. Once the printer is configured in the network, the Square App will detect it in the Printer section outlined by @Laurie_ above.
