Mag Strip

I have an iPhone 15 with a USB-C. When I connect an adapter to the mag strip reader to swipe a card the square app keeps popping open a message that says “are you connecting a pair of headphones” the message keeps popping up and staying up for only a second and won’t let me click on the button options, which are other devices and Bluetooth connections. Anyone else experience this?? I am at a loss to help customers who do not have tap to pay or a chip on their cards.

Seems this is more of an iPhone issue than Square related - simply search on "iPhone thinks headphone are plugged in" and you will find lots of things to read.  The challenge is what works for one person may not work for someone else - there's lots of opinions and suggestions.  For example, this link has some thoughts.  (Personally I don't think I would try cleaning the jack with a paper clip - seems a bit too risky.)
