Please help - I want to fully delete my Weebly account. Yes, I'm aware of the "integration" and absorption by Square. Horrible customer service, that group. I welcome your ideas.
Hi @BooneRyan 👋
I'm sorry to hear of your frustrations.
@TheRealChipA is correct on how deactivation works. You can deactivate, but the account will never truly be deleted. If you are having issues, I would be more than happy to try to resolve them for you if you could give me some more insight into what is going on.
To deactivate your Weebly account:
From your Account page, click "Manage Account". If what you really want is to re-use your email address on a different account, then changing the address from here is a simpler solution.
To deactivate your account, click on the button titled "Deactivate My Account". This will cancel any paid services in your account, take any published websites offline, and effectively suspend your account.
You'll be asked to confirm first. If you change your mind, just let our support team know - we can reactivate your account and restore your canceled services for you. If you’re within our 30 day refund window, you can also contact us to request a refund for canceled services.
Note that deactivating your Weebly account does not completely delete all of your data. If you don't see the deactivate button described in this article, or you would like to exercise your right to be forgotten under GDPR, you can use the Erase Data & Forget Me option under the My Data tab on your account page. If you also have data with Square, you will need to submit a deletion request through your Square dashboard.
I hope this helps.
Hey there @BooneRyan Both Weebly and Square give you the option to deactivate your account with their services. However, there is no option to delete accounts as if they never existed. So, the only recommendation I can give is for you to go through the respective deactivation procedures.
I’d usually asked for a list of issues you are having, so that I could possibility assist you in resolving those. But it’s obvious you’ve made up your mind to move on. So I’ll just wish you well as you do so.
