How to sync iPad drawer with Register drawer
We have an iPad that we use for call-in orders and a Register that we use for walk-in orders but use only one drawer. However, I'm noticing that it automatically separates drawers between the iPad and the Register. Does anyone know how to sync both sources to one drawer?

Cash drawer reports are device-specific. If you have multiple devices with cash drawers, you will need to run a report of each one separately.

Hi Violet,
We have separate devices but have only one cash drawer. The iPad we use is for call-ins only and we occasionally will take a walk-in order when the line is long. Are you saying there's no way to run one drawer off two separate devices?

You can run 1 Cash Drawer off a Network Receipt Printer that controls the Cash Drawer. The issue is that Reporting of the 1 Cash Drawer will be off since 2 POS devices are adding / subtracting from the drawer.
I run 2 Square Stands through 1 receipt printer and 1 Cash drawer. Both Stands will Print to the 1 receipt printer and Both can open the Cash drawer. The issue is that reporting gets messed up on how much should be in the Single Cash Drawer. So what I do is, the one stand is for Cash and CC sales and the other is for CC only. We try not to ring up cash sales in the one stand that we use for CC only sales. I am actual able to also use my Android phone to open the cash drawer when I am on the same WiFi that my network printer is on.
So do you have a Network printer with a Printer driven Cash Drawer? If your Cash drawer is USB driven only the item connected to it can control it. So if you have a USB cash Drawer connected to the Register, there is no way for the Ipad to open it, that I am aware of.

From what I can tell, we have the exact same setup you have. I think the easiest option would be to not have cash sales on the iPad we use for call in orders. Or, as you stated, just run a USB from the drawer to the Register then we wouldn't have to worry about it?

You would need a USB cash drawer. I do not have a USB cash drawer.
The easiest option for you would be to have no cash sales on the Ipad and if your Cash drawer is usb, then yes connect it to the Register. Then your Cash Drawer Management will be correct.
