How do I get online orders to show up in the square app?

We have been using the online ordering for about 6 weeks now, and it has mostly been successful so far. The only issue we are having is that online orders do not show up in the square app. It We can only see the total in the transactions tab. How do we get the order details to show up on the app? We are a quick service restaurant and we currently have different 3 ipads floating around the store so we can access the order info. It would be nice to be able to access the orders in the square app. The online store setup guide shows online orders in the orders tab on the square app. Did we miss something during set up? Hi there, @topthataz 👋 Thanks for taking the time to reach out to us here on the Seller Community! Good to hear from you again. So sorry for the confusion surrounding your Online Orders appearing on your application, but I think we can help clarify a bit. 

 

As long as your Online Store is active an accepting orders, an Orders Tab should appear in the navigation bar of your Square Point of Sale app. There is one caveat to this, however. This tab will only occur in a Tablet version of the Point of Sale app, and not on a mobile-phone version. The online order management feature is meant to be used on a desktop or tablet, meaning that you will not see it on the mobile phone like the screenshot from above.

 

I see that you mentioned you are using various iPads for your orders, so as long as your iPads are logged into the location in which your Online Store is registered - you should be good to go! 

If you are still experiencing issues, I would recommend reaching out to our Support Team so they can take a deeper dive with you. Also, we have some helpful resources surrounding order management that may be helpful here as well.

I use Square Online Store and sometimes I'm out running errands and need to keep an eye on our incoming orders to make sure we get back to fulfill them in time. However, the Square app for my iPhone doesn't have the "Orders" icon like the desktop version does nor does the squareup.com site show it on my phone when I try to access the site on my phone's web browser.

 

I found a workaround by going to the online store's backend via Square site on my phone's browser, then clicking through a few screens (logging in, clicking OK to non-mobile version of the site, etc) but it's not very user-friendly taking this route.

 

So wondering if there's an easier way to view the orders?

Is your site on Weebly?  We have our online orders that come in and we have the Weebly app on my iphone so when the orders come in I get a notification from Weebly.  The only downside I wish they would add to the app is when I am out making deliveries I want to be able to notify my customers through the app that their delivery has been made but this isn't an option.  You have to go in from a tablet or computer to do that through Square.

Our order detail was showing up in the Orders Tab but has since 'disappeared' and we only  see it in the transactions like you are stating or going into our email or online thru the dashboard which none of these are convenient in comparison to the tab.
Were you able to resolve this issue and if so, how?

You should be able to manage online orders in the Square POS app under the Order tab. 

 

Can you clarify what you mean by "Our order detail was showing up, but disappeared"? Is the tab completely blank, or are the specific details from orders that are now missing?

The order tab is still in the drop down menu but it is not populating with the orders.
This started a couple of days ago. We had people coming in and initially could only verify the purchase in transactions. We have since found that we can go thru the Dashboard Online for a list but this is daunting, we also receive email notifications but they do not come thru in real time. I can not find anything about this nor an easy fix i.e. we accidently turned off a notification or changed a setting. Again, the Order tab exists in our dropdown on the POS but the orders are not going there.

It sounds like it may be a syncing issue to the app, but our support team can confirm. They'll be able to access the account and cross reference an order number to test.

Interestingly,  ORDERS shows up as an option on the android phone app but not on my wife's iphone app. I consider this a serious deficiency. We do not have any tablets and do not use square app except on phones or on a computer. We are primarily using it for our online store while we're otherwise shutdown due to Covid-19.

Download Weebly. You should get all orders there if you used that to create your online square store

Just like @TheBelfry mentioned, we recommend downloading the Weebly app. Depending on the operating system used with our applications, certain features can vary. Our teams are constantly looking through our seller's feedback to make necessary improvements, and we will be sure to let you know if anything ever changes or if new updates are released.

Download the Weebly app!! All the order show up right there and you get alerts when an order comes in. All the customer's info is right there. It's super useful!
