Hi there! I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 10+, using the Square Appointments app. Whenever the app is signed in, regardless if the app is open or not, if I plug in my headphones into the USB-C port, the Square app recognizes my headphones as a magstripe reader. It sends a terrible "feedback" sound through my headphones until I sign out of the app. Has anyone experienced this?
I searched to see if this has been posted before and the one thread I found looks to have been deleted or moved.
Thank you!
Hi @Tdavis6187 - Thanks for reaching out to us here on the Square Seller Community👋 Sorry to hear you're having some trouble with this.
We do not have a reader that connects directly to a USB-C port. Are you plugging the reader into your audio jack? Or are you using an adapter to connect to the USB-C port?
I would suggest checking for an update for the Appointments app within the Google Play Store and also making sure your Galaxy Note 10+ is up to date on its own software as well.
I hope this information is helpful but please do let us know if you have any additional questions. Always happy to help! 😊
I do not have or use a reader. The problem is when I plug my headphones into my phone, the Square app recognizes my headphones as a reader (it says "reader connected, swipe to charge"). The app sends a very loud noise through the headphones unless I completely sign out because it thinks my headphones are a reader. If I unplug my headphones the app says, "reader disconnected."
I use my headphones all day for work and I suppose I can just keep the app signed out. It's just inconvenient, to say the least.
Same problem here. I only use the Square Appointments. I can’t listen to music and book. Obnoxious.
This has been happening for me too, can’t check my appointments with my headphones in or it gives me this warning to unplug my headphones and if I have the audacity to ignore that this horrific screeching sounds in my ears. Please fix
