Can I use coupon codes with a Subscription Plan?

Is there a way to allow customers to apply a coupon code when purchasing a subscription plan from square online?

@OOS-Tyler  Coupon codes are entered on the checkout screen. When I choose one of your membership options from your site then continue to the checkout screen, I can enter a coupon code there.

Are you planning on having these plans automatically renew yearly by setting them up as a Subscription item on your dashboard? You will run into problems with the student plan auto renewing at the $24 instead of the $15 price point since the coupons won't extend to the next payment(s). If so, I recommend leaving your plans set up as you have them now. If you're worried about non-students taking advantage of the student rate, you can always set the student subscription as a hidden item. Students could reach out to you, you give them a special link that leads them to the hidden item page, then they buy that way.

If you're not planning on auto renewals, your coupon code idea will work great! Just change your membership description to mention that students should use the coupon code they received to get the deal.

Hello @OOS-Tyler !

Coupon codes can be used for the initial subscription purchase just like a usual sale. However, all future subscription payments will not have access to the code. This is something I asked a few months ago when trying to figure out how to bypass only being able to ship subscriptions.

Thanks, Ryan. It's not showing up for me on check out. How do I enable this?

I'd like to have the student membership and regular membership under one subscription and offer a discount code for students.

We really need to be able to apply coupons to subscriptions. Many companies are able to offer a "free month" or 50% off your first month.

Hey @Techoverde, as @ryanwanner mentioned in his reply (I've linked to it!), customers will see the option to enter a coupon code at checkout the same way they would if they are purchasing an item.

If this doesn't quite fit your need, can you give me a bit more information on what you're looking to setup and link to your website? It'll help be look into this further!
