Apple Pay telling all customers to "Update Shipping Contact"

Every time I send an invoice via text message. And I mean EVERY invoice that my customer chooses Apple Pay it states "Update Shipping Contact"? I called Square Customer Support and didnt help me at all. Is there something in my square account that I need to turn off or turn on for Apple to start working?

Hi @FLD-4.  This is not really a Square-controlled thing.  Apple Pay expects payments with cards to have shipping addresses attached to the cards in most cases.  I know that I have one card that I’ve never bothered to attach a shipping address to in my Apple Pay wallet and every time I use that card to pay something, it asks for one and I have to manually select one to continue.  But this is purely an Apple Pay limitation requirement — one that doesn’t always make sense but one that is the way that it is.  Hopefully one day they will change it.

Having said that, I’m surprised that Square Support couldn’t tell you this, but I guess it makes some sense since it is a device related issue and not a Square account related issue.  All your customers need to do is review their wallet payment cards and ensure that they have billing and/or shipping addresses for all cards and they will never see that message again.

Was my post helpful? Take a moment to mark it as a possible "best answer." I hate the term, and wish we could just mark posts as "helpful." But this is our only mechanism at the moment. Just remember "Best answer" should be interpreted as "helpful," and nothing more. LOL. "Best" (ugh) answers help folks possibly find solutions to similar problems they are hoping to solve.
