I was selling on a consignment basis at a retailer who uses square. They decided to stop selling consignment items because they could not get the system to print out a monthly sales report for the consignment items and had to manually figure it out. Also, our consignment items were showing up in their store inventory totals and they had to back it out to pay property taxes. Does the square system have the ability to handle consignment items, print out monthly sales report by SKU numbers, and/or separate inventory by retailer purchased vs. consignment?????
I don't need to be referred to a thread. I need a way to contact someone at square who can simply answer the question. Thanks
Hi @jclark.
Selling consignment is possible with Square, but the way to set it up is not very black and white. A lot of sellers go the route of making each "consignee" or vendor as a 'category' and listing the items that person sells under their category. When sales reports are pulled, it's easy to sort by category (in this case, each consignment seller's name) and see which sales belong to each person. And yes, you can print out a sales report that includes SKUs you've created for items.
If you want an integrated solution where you don't have to manually calculate sales and run category reports that you have to convert into payout reports, you should have your store look into our software. Rose by Consignor Connect. We are the only consignment software that uses Square's API for inventory and sales tracking.
Hope to hear from you!
