Does the team member name have to be the same as the Payroll Legal Name? I have an employee who goes by a different name and I would like that name to appear in scheduling, etc. Can I change the team member name but leave the Payroll legal name alone so that their checks and W2s are correct?
Hi @ddavies. You very much can. I have a current employee who changed their name last year. In the initial Team Member maintenance screen, change that name in the “Personal Information” section and save it. This will NOT change the name in the Payroll section, which should match legal names as contained in SS and IRS records.
Also, FYI, this works for nickname, like mine. The name I go by is not the same as my legal name since I was given a nickname that stuck early in my life.
