I wanted to know how staff can request time off for a select time period (8–3) instead of having to request the entire day off.
Hi @Sylgiro07. So far, they can’t. It is a feature request that I, and others, have submitted. But no announcement yet that it has been implemented. Thankfully, in my business, requests aren’t that frequent. So my workaround, which might or might not work for you, is this.
I have employees submit the time-off request for the day, but also add a note about what block of time they really need. Then, when I’m scheduling and get that notice, I cancel the time off request if I need to schedule them that day, and just ensure I don’t schedule them for the block of time they requested. Of course, before I cancel it I send them a quick text by way of explanation, so they don’t panic! Ha.
It’s not perfect, but it works and isn’t too burdensome — unless you have lots of employee who request lots of time off every week.
