Labor Reports using Gross Sales

Hey, I am used to running labor numbers off of gross numbers, but as far as I can see, square only provides reports based on Net.  Is there a way to adjust this or change the setting?  Thanks!

@Kimekaye If you are talking about the “Labor vs. Sales” report, there is currently no way to change that calculation.  Net Sales is the method I was always taught to use, but I can see where some people might prefer Gross sales.  I know that in my case, since Net Sales = Gross Sales less returns, comps and discounts (all of which don’t ever amount to much for me), it doesn’t make much difference which one is used.

For now you can, of course, submit a feature request here and ask for a new option on that report to allow calculations by either Gross or Net Sales.  Square will review it and let you know if it is something they decide to put on their future product roadmap.

In the meantime, the only work-around you have is to export a few CSV files and import them to a spreadsheet to do the calculations you want.  I’d recommend exporting the:

  1. Sales Summary Report
  2. Labor vs. Sales Report

Both of those have the raw numbers you need to do your own calculation for now.

Let me know if you have any other questions.
