I have one employee switching to a 4-10s schedule so she can have 3 days off in a row. In my state, it's allowed with a special form to the Dept of Labor to not pay overtime with an approved, voluntary "flexible schedule" if the person works a regular 10 hour day and 35-40 hours per week. Is there a way to set this up? I see that I can only set up overtime after 8 hours (or a different number of hours) in the settings for Team Management but that is for all employees. I need to do this for only one employee. I also need the time card to carry over to Payroll with the correct amount of overtime (overtime after 10 hours, not 😎 for the one employee on the flexible schedule.
Hello @FSquirrel !
My state doesn't allow for that kind of flexible schedule arrangement--slightly jealous!
My guess is you would have to treat the employee more like a salaried position on Square's side:
Payroll -> Payroll Team -> Employee in question
Look for the Overtime Exemption line, enable this.
The biggest challenge with this is that Square won't import timecards for that employee anymore. If your agreement states your employee will get paid for 40 hours regardless, this won't be an issue. If not, you'll have to manually import their timecards. You can still schedule them and they can still clock in and out, but Square won't look at their information when importing.
Hope this helps!
