Employee entered wrong direct deposit bank account

I have an employee that signed up for direct deposit. However, they entered the bank account incorrectly. First question is how do we get the money back? The employee already fixed it for next week but what happens to this money? How can we get this fixed?

Hello @troupefoodgroup !

Wow that doesn't sound fun for you or the employee. Since Square did their part and sent out the money, there's little that can be done on this side. Your best bet is to print out a report from the payroll section showing the dollar amount and account that it went into and have your employee go down to the bank and talking directly with someone. There shouldn't be any trouble doing this, but if that other person has spent any of the cash I doubt the bank will do anything to reimburse your employee.

I'm kind of surprised the bank accepted the deposit to be honest: it should have matched the name on the deposit with the name of the account holder and blocked things if they didn't match.
