I own a bar and currently using Square for POS to manage purchase transaction, and Team to manage the staff's schedule.
We set daily sales targets, and if the target is achieved, we pay a commission to all staff who worked that day.
For example, if today’s target is $XXXX and the actual sales are ¥YYYY, we allocate X% of the actual sales (¥YYYY) evenly among the staff members who worked that day.
Is it possible to calculate each staff member’s commission and track the payments using Square?
If not natively, are there any recommended workflows or third-party tools that integrate well with Square to help manage this?
I read that Square allows me to set up and manage commissions for each staff, but could not find how to set it up for the staff/team who worked on that specific day.

Unfortunately, there isn’t a native way in Square to automatically split a percentage of group sales each day and pay it out evenly to everyone on shift.
With Square, you can track the following commission structures:
Flat rate per team member
Tiered commissions
Example Tiered Structure
• Tier 1: $0 – $100 in sales = 0% commission
• Tier 2: $100+ in sales = 2% commission
• Cadence: Weekly (resets each week)
In this example, the employer only pays commission when an individual team member hits their personal threshold for the chosen period—and it’s always on at least a weekly basis, not daily. Because Square attributes commission at the individual level—and only on at-least-weekly cadences—there’s no built-in way to award a group bonus based on that day’s total sales.
I’d recommend browsing the Square App Marketplace for third-party integrations that might offer a daily, group-split workflow. Hopefully other Sellers will jump in here in the meantime to share more ideas and alternatives!

hi @Katie_SQ Thank you so much for the detailed answers. Very helpful to understand what Square can do and cannot do today. I will figure out how else I can calculate the commission for our staff. I may have to go back to good old excel for now.
