Add Sku and customer details to the receipt
These are two obvious features that would help business using square a lot.

After a receipt is print and at the end of the day the staff looking at a receipt would know exactly what item and who made the purchase. But now looking at a printer receipt i can not tell who made the purchase or what item it is. I have multi items with the same name, the thing that lets me know which item it is, it the Sku#. I have 1000's of items and it makes it very difficult and slow to lookup and items from a receipt.

Totally with you on this one—having SKUs and customer details on printed receipts would save so much time. When you’re dealing with thousands of items (especially with similar names), that little SKU number is the difference between a quick lookup and a headache 😅. Same goes for seeing the customer info on the receipt—makes it way easier to match purchases without digging through the Dashboard.

Right now there isn’t a setting to add SKUs or customer details to the standard printed receipt. A couple of workarounds you might try in the meantime:

  • Email receipts → These often include more detail than the printed ones, and you can cross-reference them with the customer’s profile.

  • Custom receipt notes → Some businesses add key info (like SKU or customer name) manually in the “Add Note” section before completing a sale, so it prints on the receipt.

  • Back-end reports → The Item Sales report in Dashboard will always list SKUs, so sometimes pairing printed receipts with daily reports helps with reconciliation.

I’d definitely recommend sending this through the Feedback form (Dashboard → Settings → Feedback)—you’re not the only one who’d benefit from this. It would be a huge quality-of-life improvement for businesses with big catalogs 🙌.
