Reports based on invoice or appointment date (not transaction date)

I would like to track sales based on when the service was performed. I would even settle for reporting based on the date it was invoiced. It appears that the reports are based on the date the payment was collected. Is there anyway to change this or a different report to use?

Hi there @Standiford 👋

If you head to the Invoices section of your Square Dashboard, you'll be able to view both the date on which the invoice was sent, as well as when the invoice was paid:

You can export all of your invoices to a CSV file to see invoice details such as customer details and invoice status by clicking the Export button in the top right-hand corner of your screen here:

When you export this CSV, there will be a column titled Invoice Date, as well as one titled Last Payment Date.

What I would like to do, rather than exporting and creating my own reports from it, is use the report within Square. For example, I did a large project on 10/8/2020, sent the invoice on 10/10/2020 and it was paid on 10/18/2020. In the Summary Report, the item shows up for 10/18/2020. For me, this data is not useful. I don't need to know when invoices were paid, I need to know when the work was done. I understand I'm not likely to be able to see it reported under the date of service (10/8/2020) but at least if I can see it under the date invoiced (10/10/2020) at least I have some control over it.

The report you're looking to see directly in your Square Dashboard is not available, although you always have the ability to download the CSV report mentioned in my last post to view the information you are looking for, @Standiford. The Sales Summary you're referring to is intended to display payments and include the dates on which these payments were processed, which is why other dates are not included in this report.

At this time, a report of your invoices located within your Square Dashboard, including a date of service/date the invoice was sent would be considered a feature request.
