How do I create a modifier that allows me to add an engraving and monogramming charge to a sale?
When we were doing embroidery, we would set modifiers. For instance: we would do a modifier that stated Add Embroidery then set the price 10.00, so if you are using square POS you would just add the item, then tap add embroidery and it would add 10.00 to the price. If you are using a receipt printer we would then go to the notes section and add the thread color, font and name. When the receipt was printed we would have the customer review it and sign the receipt. It’s always good to have them verify the info and sign.
Hi @laurelandlawton.
I have a solution, I believe. However my solution requires that engraved items are listed twice in your online store, for example:
Bracelet no monogram $50
Bracelet with monogram $60
If you can live with this, follow these steps from Square Online Item list (not the master item list):
I’ll note that you wouldn’t need two items IF textbox modifiers had an up charge option. Why they didn’t include this is baffling to me but maybe Customer Success or and Engineer will read this and correct that oversight! Lol
That should give you what you need. Try setting it up for one item and let me know if you have any other questions or issues.
