External links aren’t supported?

I’m getting this pop up when I click on my order page that has the embedded code form. I’m not sure how to fix it. It works just fine on my laptop but every time I use the phone I get this error. I haven’t published my site yet so maybe that has something to do with it?

Do you know what it is?

Hi @Sugarbee.  That error looks like it is being sent by the Square Online webpage editor.  Currently, the only links you can open view using that editor are internal Square links.  Once you publish your site, you should be able to click on the link and have it open.  But, even once you have published your site, you still won’t be able to open external links using the Square Online editor.  I suspect that is a security issue for Square’s servers, more than anything.

@Sugarbee I’ll add that if you want to test it, go ahead and publish your site then check it out.  After you are done, you can unpublish your site by going to your web dashboard > Online > Website > Site Preferences.  Close to the bottom of that page is an Unpublish button to use when you are finished testing the link.

It makes sense that I wouldn’t be able to open it in the app. I didn’t even think of that. It opens on the laptop and on

the phone when I go to the actual website instead of the app.
Thank you. I can’t believe I didn’t think of that lol.

@Sugarbee LOL.  Trust me, we all have moments like that where we can’t see the forest because of the trees in our way.  The older I get, the more it happens!  I’m glad we could clear that up.

I had the same issue on my website before, turns out it only worked right after I published it. Once I published and cleared cache on my phone, the error was gone.
